Swan's Nest

On the outskirts of Exeter, in Exminster, this is the sort of traditional pub and restaurant that has quietly become a local favourite by doing the straightforward things properly. Carianne welcomes families and couples alike, and the kitchen runs hot and cold food all day, seven days a week. Locally sourced food and local ale sit at the centre of it, with no particular fuss made about either.

Palmers ale is the draw at the bar, with plenty of varieties to work through and genuine pride taken in stocking it. On the food side, the Beast Burger is the headline act: beef patty, Cajun chicken breast, smoked bacon, hash browns, onion rings, smoky mature cheddar, chips and BBQ sauce. Desserts follow if you have room. Food runs noon to 5pm Sunday to Thursday and noon to sunset Friday and Saturday; book ahead by phone or the contact form.
