The Garden Restaurant sits inside RHS Garden Rosemoor near Great Torrington, a light, airy room looking straight out over the gardens, and you don't need a garden ticket to eat there - it has its own entrance and free parking. The kitchen leans hard on what's actually growing outside the window, pulling fruit and vegetables straight from Rosemoor's own kitchen garden when they're in season and filling the gaps with other West Country producers, including Elston Farm for sausages and bacon.
Breakfast baps and mushroom-and-thyme sourdough run from 10am to 11.30am, light lunches from 11.30am to 3pm, and daily specials from noon to 2.30pm - think Caesar salad and roasted cauliflower in summer, slow-cooked Exmoor beef brisket or roast West Country chicken on Sundays. Everything is prepared on site by the restaurant's own team, vegan and gluten-free options are always available, and there's a children's menu at £4.75. It's open daily, 10am to 4.30pm, for anything from a coffee and cake to a full Sunday lunch.
