Gray's Devon Cider

Cider making has been in the Gray family since the 1600s, which makes this one of the oldest operations of its kind anywhere - a claim they make with some justification. Apples come off hillsides across three rural Devon parishes and go into a custom built 19th century pound house to be pressed. One visitor called it a rare example of a traditional Devon cider farm still working, and the very heart of Devon. Hard to argue.

What comes out is pure, still, naturally fermented and unadulterated - real draught cider rather than anything fizzy or corrected. Three house styles cover the ground: Simply Sweet, Medium Blend and Devon Dry, plus a bespoke blend, all from £4.50 up to £50.00 depending on volume. Gift vouchers run £10.00 to £50.00. Postal orders are not yet running, so collection is from the farm only. The cellar door is open - go and taste before you commit.
