Flory Restaurant

Bodmin sits midway between Fowey and Padstow, which makes this family-run dining room a sensible stop for anyone crossing Cornwall rather than hugging one coast. Open since May 2019, it takes its name from head chef Flory, who brings over a decade of experience and Mediterranean influences to Cornish produce. The approach is traditional cooking methods and seasonal ingredients, with simplicity doing most of the work. Five consecutive Taste of the West Gold Awards suggest the consistency is real.

Brunch, lunch, dinner, cocktails and a traditional Sunday roast all feature, with everything prepared to order and dishes adapted for gluten free, dairy free and other dietary needs by staff trained to handle them properly. There are two ground-floor dining areas, one a light-bite cafe space, plus an accessible bathroom with baby changing and a drop-off point opposite the door. A Christmas party menu runs from 1 to 23 December, and booking is advised.
