Waterhouse Fayre

Ann Stallard started Waterhouse Fayre in January 2004 on Saturday mornings at South Molton Pannier Market, making jam from the surplus fruit grown for hotels and restaurants. She had never made jam before, and by her own account the first few years were quite an education. It is still a small family business.

The preserves have been collecting awards steadily ever since, and the range now runs well past the original Strawberry Jam, Seville Marmalade and Devon Ale Chutney - the beetroot with horseradish chutney is worth seeking out. The 120g Midi Jars, four ounces in old money, are the easiest way to try several at once. They supply retailers and caterers as well as selling direct.
