Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

A farm on a hill beside an ancient spring gave this place its name, and the working farm behind it still sets the terms. Sitting in the heart of the Tamar Valley, about ten minutes off the A30 at Launceston, the farm shop and restaurant have picked up awards for both the produce and the cooking. The stated ambition is simple enough: bring people together around fresh food, and eat well doing it.

Meat is butchered to order, there is a bakery turning out occasion cakes, and Cornish produce takes priority wherever it can. The restaurant does coffee and cake and afternoon tea, and takes bookings, with private events and catering handled too. Online orders run to click and collect or local delivery within 25 miles, minimum spend a tenner, and you can build your own hamper. Open seven days, 9am to 5pm; ring to book a table.
