The Hare & Hounds

PubCarvery

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

The Hare & Hounds sits on Torquay Road at the southern end of Kingskerswell, on the A380, a spacious Buccaneer Inns pub that takes its name from the greyhound stadium that stood across the road forty years ago. It's known locally for its award-winning carvery, backed up by an à la carte menu with fifteen or more other mains, and the daily carvery draws regulars from across the area rather than just passing trade off the main road.

There's a large car park and a garden with a dozen tables of varying sizes plus a children's play area at the rear. It's a straightforward, well-run local rather than a destination restaurant, which is exactly why it stays busy - reliable carvery, plenty of seating, and a pub that has clearly been doing this for a long time. This is a separate pub to the Hare & Hounds at Putts Corner near Sidbury, despite the shared name.
