The Dough Works runs two identities out of the same spot on The Strand in Exmouth: a stone-baked sandwich shop by day, a neighbourhood pizzeria by night. It's run by Zac and Chelsea, a couple with years in hospitality behind them before they set up on their own, and the split-personality format lets them cover the full day rather than picking one trade.
Daytime centres on the panuozzo, a Neapolitan street food built from their own homemade sourdough, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, dusted with sea salt and rosemary, then flipped and baked fresh each morning for a crisp, airy bread that holds up to a proper filling - alongside coffee and homemade cakes. Come evening the kitchen switches to Neapolitan pizza, backed by innovative cocktails and old-world wines, a more grown-up offer than the daytime counter suggests. With a perfect rating on Tripadvisor and close to 80 Google reviews, it has built a strong local reputation in a short space of time on the strength of the panuozzo alone, let alone the evening pizza menu.
