Star Coffee

CafeBreakfastCoffee

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Star Coffee is a small independent cafe tucked near the bottom of Albion Street in Exmouth, run by a husband-and-wife team who keep the place going on attention to detail rather than scale. It's easy to walk past - there's no big signage push, just a quaint, warmly decorated room that regulars describe as one of the best-kept secrets in town.

Breakfast is the strong suit: porridge made fresh with yoghurt and honey, poached eggs on granary toast with cherry tomatoes, crumpets, and orange juice squeezed to order. Alongside that sits a short menu of paninis, light lunches and pastries, plus tea and hot chocolate that reviewers rate as unbeatable value. The coffee itself gets called some of the best in Exmouth. There's free wifi if you want to linger, and the food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency stands at the full five stars.
