Sharpham has been making cheese for over forty-five years, and in 2022 became the first cheesemaker in the UK certified as a B Corporation - a standard that requires putting people and planet ahead of profit. Greg and Nicky Parsons are both still hands-on at the dairy.
Around eighty tonnes of cheese a year comes out of it, made with rich milk from their own herd plus sheep and goats' milk from trusted local family farms, by a small team with over a hundred years of cheesemaking between them under production manager Peter Howarth. The ten main cheeses have taken national and international awards several times over - the Rustic and the Camembert-style are where to start - with chutneys and crackers to go alongside.
