Salty Dog Kiosks

CafeKioskCoast Path

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Salty Dog Kiosk sits on Smugglers Lane in Holcombe, right on the beach path between Dawlish and Teignmouth, a small kiosk built for people passing through on foot rather than a sit-down cafe. It's open 10am to 4pm daily and keeps the menu to what works on a coastal walk: bacon rolls, paninis, pasties and ice creams, plus homemade cakes including a Devon apple cake that regulars come back for.

It's properly dog-friendly, with pup cups, treats and toys on hand for anyone walking the coast path with a dog in tow, which fits the setting well. Service is quick and the staff get consistent praise for being warm and generous, often throwing in a complimentary treat. It's a stop to build a walk around rather than a destination in its own right - grab something and carry on along the path.
