Postcards Cafe

Postcards Cafe opened on The Strand in February 2022 and built its menu around a love of Devon and travel - the decor and dish names nod to places around the world, and everything on the menu is vegetarian, with most dishes able to go vegan on request. Cakes, breakfasts, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and salads make up the core of it, alongside a gluten-free cake that's always available.

The kitchen takes allergies seriously in a mixed-use space - gluten-free sandwiches are made on separate bread with dedicated knives, boards and a toaster kept apart from the rest of the kitchen. It's dog friendly and opens most days, though Tuesday is closed and Wednesday runs a limited menu. Reviewers consistently praise the cakes and the accommodating approach to wheat and dairy-free diets, and the prices are reasonable for what's a genuinely independent operation.
