Park Farm sits below Hambledon Hill on the edge of the Blackmore Vale, and the Perretts have been milking cows there since 1989. The herd runs to 180 Holsteins, with grass pasture in the warmer months and a clean barn to rest and shelter in otherwise. Welfare drives the whole operation, down to a milking system built around the RSPCA's Five Freedoms, alongside renewable energy, recycling and traditional care of the land and soil.
The milk is pasteurised but not homogenised, so the cream rises to the top unless you shake it back in. Alongside it come Dorset Double Cream, Sea Salted Butter, Peppered Butter and Mini Moo's milkshakes in chocolate, strawberry, banana and vanilla. Everything is vegetarian, gluten free and free from artificial colours and preservatives. Great British Food Awards judge Glynn Purnell called the salted butter's flavour incredible.
