Jacksons Fish & Chips on Queen Street is a third-generation family business, and it shows in the details - fish bought daily from Brixham market, MSC-certified for sustainability, and cooked to the standard that's earned it National Federation of Fish Friers Quality Accreditation and a shortlisting for Restaurant of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.

Alongside the classic cod and haddock there's homemade tartare sauce and organic mushy peas, with a 28-cover dining room at the back of the shop for anyone who wants to eat in rather than take away. It's open Monday to Saturday from 11.30am to 9pm and closed on Sundays, at 52 Queen Street, Newton Abbot.
