Huxbear Vineyard

Ben and Lucy Hulland planted Huxbear in 2007, and their slopes in the Teign Valley outside Chudleigh have been quietly producing award-winning still and sparkling wine ever since. The Blanc de Blancs 2021 was crowned Wine of the Year at the 2025 Food Drink Devon Awards, which is about as clear a verdict as the county hands out.

The vineyard, winery and microbrewery are fully off grid, running almost entirely on solar, with winery methods adapted to keep energy use to a minimum - low intervention, estate grown.
