Hangtime Cafe

CafeCoffeeBeachfront

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Hangtime Cafe is a beach hut of a place at Sideshore on Exmouth seafront, run by professional kitesurfer Olly Bridge and his partner Megan as much a hangout as a cafe. There's no indoor seating - just a hatch and a large outdoor terrace looking straight over the beach - and it's wheelchair, bike and pram accessible, open every day from 8am to 4.30pm.

The counter runs on Chunk of Devon pasties, Exploding Bakery cakes, Salcombe Dairy ice cream, bagels and smoothie bowls, alongside proper barista coffee and shakes. It's the spot surfers and skaters head for between sessions, and dietary needs are catered for across the board rather than as an exception. Expect a relaxed, unhurried vibe that matches the view.
