EX8 Snack Hub took over the old Carol's Bakery site on St Andrew's Road in Exmouth, and locals still sometimes know it by the older name or as the EX8 1AR Deli Store. It's a straightforward local snack shop rather than a sit-down cafe, built around quick, hot, cheap food for people passing through the neighbourhood rather than settling in for a meal.

The menu covers the classic bakery-deli spread: pasta pots, pies, pasties, jacket potatoes, pizza slices and fresh cakes, with the pasta pots getting a particular mention for a recent relaunch with bolder flavours and new labels. It's open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 2pm, making it more of a breakfast-and-lunch stop than an evening spot. Straightforward, unfussy, and exactly what a snack hub says on the tin - the kind of place people pop into on the way past rather than plan a trip around.
