Dartmoor Whisky Distillery works out of the Old Town Hall in Bovey Tracey, family-run and small enough that every whisky is aged in its own individual cask rather than blended into a house style. The barley comes from a single local farm, which is about as tight as an English whisky supply chain gets.
The single malts are drawn from American oak ex-bourbon, ex-oloroso sherry and ex-Bordeaux red wine casks, joined by a rare limited-edition Islay barrel-aged bottling, a Dartmoor dark rum, and a liqueur made from wild Dartmoor honey married with their seven-year ex-Bordeaux malt. Book a tasting experience to work through them properly - vouchers are available, and you can own a cask outright if it takes hold.
