Cocolato

Cocolato began in 2018 as The Magnificent Chocolate Company, after its founder came back from a summer holiday spent eating homemade ice cream by a lake and decided that was a life worth arranging. Two masterclasses with Ruth Hinks, the Peebles-based UK World Chocolate Master, supplied the technical side.

Artisan gelato arrived in August 2020, made on site with locally sourced milk and cream, and grew enough to earn the rebrand. The shop moved to Fore Street in Topsham in May 2024, where all the chocolates and gelato are still made on the premises alongside freshly made coffee and cake. The flavour list changes constantly, so what you had last time may well not be there next.
