Beer Factory and Kitchen @ Hanlons

Beer Factory and Kitchen grew out of a run of pop-up nights where Hanlons Brewery's own beers were paired with street food from La Cantina South West. The pairing worked well enough that the two independent businesses merged properly in February 2019, setting up together at Hanlons' working brewery site at Hill Farm, Half Moon Village, just outside Exeter. Diners can wander into the shop area and see the brewery itself in action while they wait for a table.

The kitchen turns out smokehouse food and burgers - all from a smoker nicknamed Peggy Sue - to go with Hanlons' award-winning ales straight from the tap, with three changing beers plus a regular pour on any given visit. It's an outdoor-leaning, casual setup: dog friendly, plenty of free on-site parking, and a monthly Thursday evening brewery tour for anyone who wants to see how the beer gets made before drinking it. Open Thursday to Saturday, with food service running to around 9pm.
