A Better Weigh

A Better Weigh is a refill shop and deli on Old Street in Clevedon, opened by Laura and Martin in 2019 after they left their previous jobs and started researching zero-waste shops, inspired partly by the first one to open in Totnes. It's built around bringing your own container and buying only what you need - cleaning products (they've refilled over 16,000 bottles since opening), milk in glass bottles, hair care, flour and dried snacks - though there's also packaged stock for anyone who forgets their own bottle.

The shop leans on Ekologik cleaning products among its refills and has built a genuinely loyal local following, delivering hundreds of kilos of supplies through the pandemic and keeping regular customers on as what the owners call real friends. Delivery is also available through Good Sixty. The shop holds a 5-star food hygiene rating.
