Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

18g is named for the dose - eighteen grams of coffee per cup - which tells you what sort of precision the family behind it care about. Chris has been roasting since 1990, thirty-five years of it, and that knowledge goes into every batch out of their Marsh Barton roastery in Exeter.

Most coffee you buy was roasted months ago and sat in a warehouse before it reached you. 18g roast small batches weekly and pack and post within 48 hours, so it arrives at peak flavour, with organic and fair-trade beans wherever they can get them. There are shops in St Leonard's, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth if you would rather drink it than brew it, and free UK shipping on orders of a kilo or more.
