New Jumbo has run as a family takeaway on Wonford Street for years, offering a genuinely large combined menu that covers Chinese, English and a run of chef's specialities in one place rather than picking a single cuisine and sticking to it. Signature dishes include spare ribs with salt and pepper, scramble egg fried rice, Peking chicken, Szechuan Sensation and a dish called the Wandering Dragon, alongside more familiar chow mein, curry and rice plate options built around chicken, beef, king prawn, roast duck and roast pork.

The English side of the menu runs to fish and chips, burgers, pies and omelettes, useful for a household where tastes don't agree on Chinese every time. Vegetarian tofu dishes and set dinners for one to four people round out the offering.
